The Mission Inn. Riverside, California.

Significantly larger than when first built in 1876, the Mission Inn has welcomed a breathtaking number of famous guests in its time. In fact, Bette Davis even got married here.

Holbrooke Hotel. Grass Valley, California.

Providing respite for travellers since the 1850’s, this Grass Valley hotel can claim to have provided accommodation for the likes of Mark Twain, amongst others.

Certainly not the oldest hotel to feature on Nights in the Past, but undoubtedly one of the largest, this San Francisco landmark is worthy of inclusion on account of its connection to the United Nations Charter.

Without question, The Occidental is one of the most historic hotels in the country. Indeed, anywhere that can claim to have accommodated Butch Cassidy, the Sundance Kid and Theodore Roosevelt simply has to be.
