La Maison Pavie
Dinan, Brittany, France.
Named after the French explorer Auguste Pavie who was born in the house in 1847, the building itself is visibly of much greater age. Dating in parts from the 15th century, the place even has preserved medieval latrines. But while the building is full of period detail and original architectural features it still provides all the contemporary comforts the modern-day traveller requires.
The recipient of some truly enviable visitor reviews, La Maison Pavie offers five rooms, all named after towns its former owner visited on his adventures: Luang Prabang, Champassack and Angkor among them.
