Camelot Castle
Tintagel, Cornwall, England
Don’t make the mistake of thinking this to be associated with the world famous Tintagel Castle of Arthurian legend – although that particular 13th century structure is close by – but this imposing late-Victorian building is still associated with some familiar names from the past.
Indeed, the likes of Sir Winston Churchill, Ava Gardner, Noel Coward and J B Priestley are all former guests at the Camelot Castle Hotel – all quite probably drawn to the place for the stunning views of the North Cornwall coast.
Of course, not all guest rooms face the ocean (many have moorland views instead), but the hotel itself remains well-located for those wishing to explore the local area and other notable villages such as Boscastle.
The hotel offers a total of 64 guest rooms, a restaurant and “The Golden Age Bar”. Well behaved dogs are extremely welcome.
