This 5-room boutique hotel uses the phrase “the pleasure of going back in time” in its literature – a phrase to which Nights in the Past gives credit given that such a succinct description is one it dearly would have liked to have come up with.
The actual age of the property itself is unknown, but it seems its original purpose was to house a small group of Dominican nuns at the time of the First Inquisition (some time during the late 15th century).
The hotel features just five guest rooms, all of which are individually furnished in traditional style.
Indeed, not only are they all distinctly decorated, but they are also individually named: El Gabinete de la Condesa, Mateo Aleman (named after the novelist who visited here in 1593), Cervantes, Condes Fucares, and Camera Real (with its original ancient timbers still on display).
Almost midway between Madrid and Seville, the hotel is located in the foothills of the Sierra Morena – one of Castile la Mancha’s most naturally beautiful areas – and thus ideal for those who prefer rest and recuperation in more rural surroundings.
