The Ritz Hotel
Paris, France.
Certainly one of the world’s most famous hotels, the Ritz Paris began life in the eighteenth century as a private dwelling prior to becoming the head office of a financial institution. It finally opened as a hotel on June 1st 1898, and has since played host to countless international dignitaries.
It goes without saying that The Ritz has a pretty impressive guest book, and amongst the signatures are those of F Scott Fitzgerald, Marcel Proust, Ernest Hemingway, and King Edward VII of Great Britain.
Unsurprisingly grand, it boasts well in excess of 150 guest rooms and suites, a 2 star Michelin restaurant, several bars to suit every conceivable mood, a swimming pool, and a wellness centre.
