Renvyle House Hotel
County Galway, Ireland.
One of Ireland’s first country house hotels, the Renvyle House first opened its doors to guests in 1883.
Located amid some of the country’s most rugged and beautiful scenery, visitors enjoy the same comforts which have appealed to many prominent figures over the past century - W B Yeats, Augustus John and Winston Churchill all spent time here.
Boasting almost seventy guest rooms, the hotel is certainly one of the more sizeable places to stay in rural Galway. Moreover, it even possesses its own outdoor heated swimming pool (open seasonally), all-weather tennis courts, and a nine-hole golf course.
Connemara National Park is but a short drive away, while Westport and Galway itself are to the north and south respectively
