Palazzo Lovera
Cuneo, Piemonte, Italy.
Dating back to the sixteenth century, Palazzo Lovera is a restored townhouse built and once owned by the powerful and influential Lovera di Maria family.
King Francis I was so enamoured of his stay he decided to leave his suit of armour as a token of his appreciation. And would-be guests can be assured that the facilities are far better today than they were when Pope Pio VII was held there as a prisoner by Napoleon.
Four-star rated, the hotel possesses almost 50 guest rooms, two restaurants (including the Michelin-starred Delle Antiche Contrade), bar and fitness centre.
