The Rising Sun
Lynmouth, Devon, England.

This celebrated thatched inn, formerly the haunt of smugglers, is perhaps most well-known for its connection to the novelist R D Blackmore. In fact, it was in one of the rooms that he is said to have written several chapters of the classic novel Lorna Doone.
Dating in parts from the 14th century, the Rising Sun is certainly a place of historic character – sloping floors and low beams abound – which combines its ancient origins with 21st century comforts. As one might expect, no two of its sixteen guest bedrooms are remotely alike.
The Rising Sun features its own restaurant. More details to be uploaded soon.
