Manoir de Ponsay
Chantonnay, Pays de la Loire, France.
Though partly damaged by a fire in the late 1700’s during the Vendee Revolutionary Wars, this fine old house was later restored and is rightfully a listed building today.
With a heritage stretching back as far as the 15th century, it is said that Louis XI used the property while hunting in the region. How much truth there is to the story it is impossible to say, but it would be churlish (and unromantic) to dismiss the idea out of hand.
Those travelling by car will find Nantes, La Rochelle and Cholet easily reached.
