Brown's Hotel
London, England
Opened in 1837, Brown’s Hotel has hosted both the politically influential and some of history’s most notable literary geniuses.
Theodore Roosevelt stayed here in 1886, Rudyard Kipling completed The Jungle Book while a guest, Agatha Christie based her novel At Bertram’s Hotel on Brown’s, and it was A A Milne's favourite place to stay. Moreover, the business was founded by none other than Lord Byron’s butler, James Brown.
Created from a number of Georgian townhouses, the hotel remains one of London’s finest and most elegant. It boasts over 100 bedrooms which includes 29 luxury suites such as the Hellenic Suite, Kipling Suite and The Albemarle.
Brown’s also features a spa and 24-hour gymnasium, while those with a taste for fine gastronomy will no doubt be attracted to its HIX Mayfair restaurant. The English Tea Room is renowned for its afternoon tea, while Donovan’s Bar is a popular place for local residents and guests alike. Those who wish to see as much of London as possible on foot will appreciate the central location of Brown’s: Piccadilly Circus and West End theatres are but a short stroll away.
