Hotel Opera Richepanse
Paris, France.
The Convent of the Daughters of the Immaculate Conception once stood on the site of this famous Art Deco style hotel, and visitors still take breakfast in all that remains of the old building: its cellars.
The hotel’s primary historic claim-to-fame, however, is that it was frequented on numerous occasions by the great composer, Tchaikovsky. Indeed, he makes reference to the place in many letters he wrote during his stays in the 1880’s.
Situated between the Place de la Concorde and the Opera Garnier, it offers 38 rooms in all. Six of the ‘deluxe’ rooms have views over the neighbouring Madeleine Church.
