Chateau d'Arpaillargues
Near Uzes, Languedoc Roussillon, France.
Just a few miles west of the splendid old town of Uzes, Chateau d’Arpillargues is a largely 17th and 18th century building set within its own grounds.
Its most notable claim-to-fame is almost certainly that it was once home to Marie de Flavigny (also known as the Comtesse d’Agoult) who is known as both an author in her own right and as Franz Liszt’s lover – they had three children together but never married.
The hotel today offers 29 guest rooms, a restaurant, bar and outdoor swimming pool in which to cool off after a day in the hot Provencal Summer sun.
