Variously described as a “boutique”, “deluxe” and “luxury” hotel, the Palacio Eugenia de Montijo is a former renaissance palace in which guests are able to view Arab walls dating from the 14th Century, a Roman sewer system and coffered ceilings from the 14th and 16th Centuries
It’s main historic claim-to-fame, though, is that it was once the home of Empress Eugenia de Montijo, the wife of Napoleon III.
Located just a few hundred yards from the cathedral, the hotel is ideally placed for those wishing to explore this historic old city. The property offers 40 guest rooms, a restaurant, bar, and fitness centre.
