Hotel des Deux Clefs
Turckheim, Alsace, France.
This extremely pretty building dates back to the 15th century and, later in 1540 was recorded as being known as the ‘Statthof zum Schwartzen Adler’.
As one might expect, it’s welcomed many travellers to the medieval town of Turckheim during its time, Charles de Gaulle amongst some of the more internationally famous.
Other notable guests from centuries-past include Hortense Mancini (later a mistress of King Charles II of England) who reputedly stayed in Room 3; and the 20th century French military icon, Jean de Lattre de Tassigny.
