The Fox Club
London, England
Formerly the home of the eighteenth century statesman Charles James Fox (who was renowned for his hedonism as much as his civil liberties campaigning), this classic townhouse hotel is centrally located just off Piccadilly. Indeed, the place was perfectly positioned for the riotous Fox who came to live in the property during the later years of his life; here he could indulge in his passion for drinking and making merry with his wife Elizabeth Armistead.
It offers just a select 9 guest rooms, making it one of the more intimate hotels in London. Indeed, these themselves are all individually named and furnished, and include The George IV Suite, the Cholmondeley Executive Room and the Cavendish Suite.
For many guests one of the great benefits of the Fox Club is its location. Not only are many of the city’s notable landmarks and famous thoroughfares such as Hyde Park and Piccadilly close by, but access to the rest of London is easily achieved via Green Park tube station which is but a short walk from the front door. The hotel also boasts a vibrant bar and restaurant, which are as popular with local residents as guests. See The Fox Club site for further information.
