The Talbot
Ripley, Surrey, England.

The history enthusiast will no doubt prefer to stay in one of the 9 rooms within the original coaching inn of this famous old building (most are located in a more contemporary Ripley Wing), and in doing so will be where Lord Nelson and Emma Hamilton supposedly spent time in 1798.
Grade II* listed, the front of the building dates from around the time Nelson and his famous paramour stayed within its walls. That said, according to its English Heritage register there are parts which date back to the 16th century and thus largely account for its protected status.
The Talbot is within easy reach of both Woking and Guildford, while access to the M25 is just a couple of miles away.
