Pale Hall
Near Bala, Gwynedd, Wales.

The building one sees today is, in fact, a replacement for a previous house demolished following an unsuccessful attempt at restoration. The then owner, Henry Robertson, completed the new hall in 1871 and continued to live there until his death in 1888.
The year after, 1889, saw the visit of Queen Victoria. So enamoured was she of the area that a pathway along the river is today known as The Queen’s Walk. Indeed, the original bath and antique bed in which she slept during her stay are still used to this day.
All of the 17 bedrooms at Pale Hall are individually furnished and of different character. Superior doubles include the Caernarfon and Powys rooms, while those travelling alone might prefer the Rhuddlan Room. Its restaurant specializes in both British and French cuisine.
Located on the eastern fringes of Snowdonia National Park, Pale Hall is ideally situated for those seeking to explore North Wales. Llangollen and Dolgellau are within reasonable driving distance, while the famous castles of Caernarfon and Conwy are ideal days out for the history enthusiast.
