Parador de Jarandilla de la Vera
Jarandilla de la Vera, Extremadura, Spain.

When Charles V of Spain relinquished all in 1555 and passed his immense imperial power to his son, Phillip II, and his brother Ferdinand, it was to what is today the Parador de Jarandilla de la Vera that he came.
Undoubtedly one of the most pivotal figures in European history, Charles stayed in the building for several months before finally retiring to the Monastery of Yuste.
Today, it offers 52 guest rooms, an outdoor swimming pool, and a restaurant which specializes in true Extremaduran cuisine.
Plasencia is within easy reach by car, as indeed is the Parque Regional de la Sierra de Gredos.
More information to be uploaded soon.
