Chateau de Crazannes
Saintes, Poitou Charentes France.
This fascinating and truly historic chateau dates, in parts, from the latter half of the fourteenth century, although its history is reputed to go further back by several centuries. Former guests include The Black Prince (1362) and King Francis I (1519), while it is also said that a former owner was the inspiration for the central character of Charles Perrault’s Puss in Boots.
The hotel is situated in Crazannes on the outskirts of Saintes, with the maritime town of La Rochelle just a short drive to the north.
Chateau de Crazannes offers accommodation within the chateau itself (3 rooms and 2 suites), “The Keep” (3 doubles rooms) and an adjoining cottage.
