Marriott Wentworth by the Sea
New Castle, New Hampshire, USA.

Opening for business in 1874, this landmark building underwent a colossal restoration having been listed as one of the “11 most endangered places” by the National Trust for Historic Places in 1996. Now returned to splendour, the hotel offers over 160 guest rooms and suites, many with harbour and ocean views.
It was here in 1905 that the Treaty of Portsmouth was devised thereby ending the Russo-Japanese War. The talks were attended by many delegates from both nations, and were brought about by Theodore Roosevelt – actions which would win him the Nobel Peace Prize.
