Beginning life in 1828 as two small farmhouses, the current hotel offers five individually furnished guest rooms on a bed & breakfast basis.
Those travelling by car will find Charleston (to the north), Jacksonville (to the south), and Augusta (to the north west) to be within reasonable driving distance.
Its historic significance is that it was purported to have been visited by Jefferson Davis – President of the Confederate States. This seems extremely plausible given that he signed papers dissolving the Confederacy nearby on May 5th 1865).
