Dating back to 1833, the Green Mountain Inn was originally a private residence that soon became a popular “summering place” for well-heeled New Englanders. Both its main building and adjacent depot building are listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and offer 104 individually furnished guest rooms.
Former patrons include Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, and, in the latter half of the twentieth century, Gerald Ford.
Ideally located for those who wish to enjoy the great outdoors of Vermont, skiing, golf and kayaking can all be enjoyed in the vicinity. Indeed, the hotel even boasts its own outdoor all-year-round swimming pool.
