TACOMA |

With a mere 4 guest rooms, what today is a grand colonial mansion began life as a simple farmhouse. Listed on the national Register of Historic Places, the house is within easy reach of both Seattle and Tacoma. |
Historic Significance: The building is named after its former owner, Emma Smith DeVoe – a leading suffragist during the early twentieth century whose work altered the political landscape of the United States. |

SPOKANE |
A new 21-floor tower with another 328 rooms opened in early 2007, but the history-minded traveller will no doubt be far more interested in the original building which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. |
Historic Significance: It is said that almost every twentieth century U.S. President has stayed at the Davenport – and a fair few Hollywood greats, too. Other notable guersts include Amelia Earhart and Charles Lindbergh, while Zane Grey is said to have penned some of his works while a resident. |

LEWISBURG |
Offering 25 very different rooms, the oldest part of the building is the “Withrow House” of 1834 - now the east wing of the General Lewis inn, housing a restaurant on the first floor and three guest rooms above. |
Historic Significance: the inn is on the site of a bloody 1862 Civil War battle. |
HAZEL GREEN |
With eight very different rooms and suites, Wisconsin House was built in 1846 at a time when lead mining in the area was at its zenith. It was clearly well constructed being one of only a handful of houses to survive a devastating tornado which hit the town in 1876. |
Historic Significance: It is said that President Ulysses S Grant stayed at the inn on several occasions, being a friend of the then owner. He is known to have last visited in August 1868. |
