Chateau de Saint Michel de Lanes
Near Castelnaudary, Languedoc Roussillon, France.

Originating as a “gentleman’s house” during the reign of Henri IV, and eventually developing into a chateau during that of Louis XVI, St Michel de Lanes offers bed & breakfast accommodation through four guest rooms.
Each of these is named after a figure with reputed connections to the house, including Baroness Aiceline, the poet Bertrand de Born, and none other than Catherine de Medicis (who, it is said, made a gift of some of the sculptures to be found on the façade of the building).
Located almost mid way between Toulouse and Carcasonne, Chateau de Saint Michel de Lanes provides a sound base from which to discover the north western part of Languedoc Roussillon.
